DEDICATION FOR:
Mariusz “Shiryu”. I was informed that he is my fan (OMG! I have such!?) and really likes my pictures. And so, because of the below information, I decided to draw a manga/fanmade Cosmic Heart Compact and dedicate it to Mariusz. I included a dedication in the picture itself so it would forever be merged with the picture and live in the Internet ^^

I also know from a very close person to Mariusz (you have to guess who it is, Mariusz ^^) he has hard time now and feels sad and upset. I was asked by that person to draw a dedicated picture for Mariusz to cheer him up So here it is! I hope you will enjoy this picture, Mariusz, and will soon feel better! I really wish it to you. EXPLANATION:
This is the “manga/fanmade” Cosmic Heart Compact brooch for Sailor Moon or more properly for Usagi Tsukino to become Sailor Moon in the third arc of the manga.

As far as I know, the opened form of the Cosmic Heart Compact was never shown in the manga, so the shown design is my creation! So taking it would be stealing! Read more about the design issue in “details” section. I put the “manga” word in the quotation marks because the manga version is more like my own fanmade creation! So don’t steal it!

The Cosmic Heart Compact appeared for the first time in the manga in act 23. It was given to Usagi by her future self – Neo-Queen Serenity, who upgraded her Crystal Star compact which was broken after battle with Wiseman. From that moment on Usagi used it for her 3rd transformation. On different occasions the brooch reacted to evil spirits and moments of Senshi united powers.

It didn’t took a significant role and was more like a normal transformation brooch. It was eventually upgraded to Crisis Moon Compact by the Pegasus, when Usagi needed more power to fight new enemies – Dead Moon Circus (it was due to the fact that she couldn’t become super again because Inner and Outer Senshi were separated and couldn’t unite powers to form Holy Grail that was needed for super transformation).

I think the “manga/fanmade” Cosmic Heart Compact lacks the magic of anime counterpart. I don’t know what is it, but I feel like it does. The red on the anime version shows a power of love of Usagi and Mamoru and creation of the brooch was million times better than in the manga. However, you have to decide what’s your preference in the commentary section

For the upcoming projects I plan drawing the manga versions of the rest of lockets from Sailor Moon manga. They are now: Crisis locket of Sailor Moon and Crisis locket of Chibi Moon and one really special brooch. I have an idea on how to present them to you. Also, I got inspired lately to draw a forgotten item that nobody thought about before and I can’t wait to hear your opinions about it when I upload it to DeviantART. Please, keep waiting!

DETAILS:
I have colored the brooch in my secondary universal golden color. The crystal is colored in my light blue I always use for Silver Crystal. The stars and bottom gem are colored in my 1st universal golden color. The inside plate was colored in the same shade of pink as the one used on the anime version. The top plate was colored in lighter shade of my universal pink .

Because the opened form of the “manga” Cosmic Heart Compact was never shown in the comic, I decided to design one for it. The most significant change is the middle crystal which is now light blue. I decided to change the red one into Silver Crystal, because I personally think this is the crystal that was present in the anime brooch, but it was red because of the brooch’s main color being red.

To make this picture I hugely edited my Cosmic Heart Compact of anime. I altered every possible line and shaded it in my half-new style. It is very different from anime lineart. You can see that proportions are also mixed and different than on the anime locket. I thought that making proportions the same as on the anime brooch would be boring and not as interesting as making completely new ones.

I also colored the stars that come from the ribbons. I think it is a nice change. I changed the inside crown’s gems to white and color of the dot and crescent moon in the bottom gem to pink and white respectively. I altered the rainbow effects on the ribbon details into a true rainbow color palette. I love these changes and I hope you like them as well ^^

You probably noticed that I added a hinge and mirror on the lid. The hinge comes from the anime transformation sequence. Sometimes watching it I also saw some mirror effect and that’s why I have drawn it. But that’s me. I thought it would be a nice change. It was inspired by my “manga” Crystal Star locket as well. The mirror is colored in blue I always use for showing mirrors, while hinge in white as in the anime.

Please notice that in order to fully show the opened form I had to move Sailor Moon’s hand and change a little bit its position. I think it looks ok now. Also, in the closed form the hinge is not seen simply because it is hidden behind the crown decoration. That’s why you can’t see it there, as opposite to closed form of the Crystal Star locket.

Please remember that I know that for Sailor Moon's nail polish would be better if it was pink, light blue, white, silver or even red, but I prefer it to be medium blue just like on her first uniform in the series. I want to keep color consistency. And because this is Sailor Moon’s original theme color, I’m using it for her nail polish as well.

As for the background I decided to mimic the one that appears during the eyecatch (commercial break) of Sailor Moon S. The background consists of blue/pink/creme gradient, stars in 3 forms (big, small and dangling), purple bubbles (my add-on), shiny movement lines, golden shine bubble and laces (see “credit for”). I really like how this turned out ^^ I hope you like it as well!

PERSONAL INFO:
I'm still working on Dory to make his deviation perfect and repair mistakes (and also update the rest of Fairy Tones). However, it will take some time before I finish it Also, I’m working on a second group shot of Fairy Tones. So far I placed them and did the background, but I still have to finish the special part of the picture.

But to not waste the time, I decided to make a new Sailor Moon item! OMFG! That’s right! I have drawn my “fanmade” manga version of the third brooch of Sailor Moon. I plan to do the rest of them, which are: Crisis lockets of Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon from manga (with my improvements). I know you all will enjoy them and that you are waiting for more Sailor Moon items!

In the meantime of posting new Sailor Moon items I will try to finish the Fairy Tones group shot, so please be patient. I have some tests now and I want to focus on them more than usually. But to keep this short, I will say that I have some new great ideas for the items of Sailor Moon than nobody thought of drawing. I can’t wait to start working on them and to show you them!
